About Circle B Ranch

Meet our staff

Read "Generations learn to ride at the Circle B Ranch" (an article from the Adriondack Journal)

The Circle B Ranch is a family owned stable that has been in the Boggia family since 1961. The owner, Chris Boggia, was ten years old when his family moved from Queens, NY to Chestertown, NY for a quieter life. Since then, Chris has hardly spent a day away from the stable. Now, more than forty years later, Chris, his three girls, some very dedicated friends and staff, and a herd of about 25 horses keep the stable running like a well-oiled tractor. At the ranch, you can find something for everyone: beginners' rides and faster rides, cool forests and wide fields, big draft horses and little appaloosa ponies. We think the ranch is a special place, and others must agree, considering how many people who rode here as children are bringing their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids back year after year.

Each Adirondack season provides a unique way to experience the ranch. Summer is our busiest time, with hourly trail rides, hay rides, pony rides and lessons filling the schedule. In the winter, we offer horseback riding, group sleigh rides, and romantic couples rides on our newly refurbished antique sleigh. We have had the honor of hosting several marriage proposals in our sleigh and on horseback, with a perfect record of "yeses" so far! In the autumn, the famous Adirondack "Fall Foliage" and crisp air create a magical environment for long rides and hayrides. Spring is, admittedly, the region's least glorious season. It is often dubbed "mud season" because of the mess created by all the melting snow. But, that melted snow fills the Hudson, Schroon, and Sacandaga Rivers with "white water" perfect for rafting. We often team up with some of the local rafting companies for "ride and raft" weekend specials.
Circle B takes pride in providing a safe, fun, and personal riding environment. We try to give each customer a ride commensurate with his or her abilities and experience level. Many stables only offer "walk" or "walk-trot" rides, but we also give qualified riders the chance to "lope" or "canter" at a higher, but safe, speed. We operate mainly as a Western-style ranch, but we also offer English saddles. You can choose from a variety of ride lengths from one to three hours when making your reservation.
Have you ever dreamed of vacationing with your horse? Give us a call, and bring him along. We have boarding facilities and accommodations are available right across the street the Atateka Lodges, so you'll never be too far away.

We are lucky to be located in one of the most beautiful regions in the Eastern US. The Adirondack Park is twice the size of Yellowstone and a convenient drive for 50 million vacationers. We are located in the south eastern region of the Park, close to the attractions of Lake George, Saratoga, and many more.

There's a lot more to say about the ranch, but its better to just experience it! We hope to see you soon.
